Ed Tech Hardware Tools

Here are some of the hardware tools I recommend and/or use. The links provided are examples of the products. As technology comes and goes these items will be replaced by newer hardware so be sure to search for the latest version of each product.

Promethean Board – This is a smartboard that integrates sound, interactive control, and a projector to help with teaching in the classroom. Get help with your board – basic troubleshooting help

Logitech ClearChat – USB Headphones and microphone combination – Great for video recordings, online conferences and listening to audio/video.

Google Chromebooks and Chrome Boxes – Google Chrome OS computers, easy to manage, easy to deliver software and settings, inexpensive and easy for teachers and students to use. Can be deployed in a school enterprise network or used anywhere there is wireless. Chrome boxes are small footprint desktop units.

Epson Workforce 3540 Printer – This is the printer I use at home. It is multi-function, scan, copy, print, fax, plus it is AirPrint and Google Cloud print capable. I can print from anywhere in my house or at school to home. The ink is inexpensive and high-quality.

Apple iPad Air – My current tablet. It just works great. What makes it better is my case/keyboard – Zagg Rugged – iPad can easily detach from keyboard and the bluetooth keyboard has a 2 year battery life.

Swivl – Robotic device that records classroom activity and follows the instructor around the room through a bluetooth/mic device.

Chromebit – A Chromebit turns a display with an HDMI port into a desktop variant of the Chromebook laptop. It can be used to control an information kiosk using customized software.
